Tigers in the Woods

Hi. Writing from a neat lodge in Bandhavgarh NP, where we arrived last night after a 24 hr train ride. That was after a rather tough day for Roger, and a bit for Dana, fighting some food poisoning with Kaiser antibiotics. R. spent most of the day lying on the grass at the Golden Temple in Konarak. The train ride turned out to be a real gift. We were only able to get 3AC, which means three tier bunks in an 8 person section - rather submarine-like - but they had put on an extra coach which was only sparsely used and so we had an entire secton to ourselves for most of the trip. Also, due to the fp, we both slept most of the way.
Today we went out on three jeep safaris, one starting at 615 am, where we saw a lot of birds and deer but no tigers, one at midday where we went up to see a 1st century fort on top of a mesa, and one in the afternoon, where we spent nearly the whole time watching three tigers. Got some excellent video, and a couple of nice stills. We will go out on another morning ride tomorrow and then work our way to Veranasi.
We're back in the saddle!
